Anne has a reputation for influencing leaders to build and leverage their emotional intelligence to destigmatize and prioritize mental health in the workplace.
Her audiences love her energy, warm sense of humour and relatable content. They really listen. Insights flow and the magic of change starts to happen.
Anne draws on her expertise, the latest research and her own lived experience, in life and as a leader, to powerfully show others how to live and lead even if mental health is part of who they are.
Anne is both a Certified Speaking Professional and a Certified Virtual Presenter, accolades awarded to only a small percentage of speakers globally.
Tailored Presentations
Anne doesn’t believe that ‘one size fits all’ especially in leadership and mental health. Your organisation has its own painpoints and aspirations and Anne will tailor her presentations to meet your needs.
Building leaders mental health conversation and communication skills
Underlying Anne’s work is her conviction that leaders need self -awareness and self-management to build a psychologically safe culture. These skills are the grid Anne develops as she works with your leaders to map how to run a successful business while managing the risks associated with poor mental health, at any level in the organisation.
Anne leads conversations with your key leaders and interactively engages the audience.
Mental health conversations should not be scary. They ought to be a part of everyday work and family life. So, what holds us back?
Anne’s view is that we worry about what to say and how to help. We want to be sure that what we say and do is based on the best research and delivers the right support. Anne will alleviate your concerns.
She shares her own story of living with mental ill health while still forging a successful career. She engages your leaders in a discussion about how leaders can support people individually and develop best practice mental health strategies in the workplace.
Conversations with leaders about mental health in their workplace
Anne says:
‘Mental health challenges run in my family, but we never spoke about it. I know families that are still like that … and organisations.’
‘I wish someone had talked to me 30 years ago when I was struggling at work – but they didn’t know how.’
Executive Briefings
Highly customized, concise and focussed dialogue with key decision makers.
The Executive set the tone. Their tangible and visible support will make or break mental health and wellbeing initiatives. They play a key role in creating a psychologically safe workplace and culture where mental ill-health is seen as treatable and often preventable. Not doing this well is a major risk issue. Anne will spotlight the evidence, risk and protective factors and work with the Executive to identify key best practice interventions.
Small group workshops
Build knowledge and actionable practical skills, not just theory
Influencers and leaders are powerful role models. Anne designs her highly interactive workshops to improve mental health literacy, and delve deep into practical skills and techniques that leaders, influencers and teams can use working from anywhere.
Whether your program is a short term intervention or part of a longer term mentally healthy workplace development strategy, (the more sustainable option), your program will be constructed on the basis of a thorough understanding of your goals and desired outcomes, what Anne knows works based on her hundreds of proven programs, and tested business education principles.
Participants will be energised and equipped to lead and support mental health strategies for individuals, teams and whole systems. In short, they become champions and catalysts for change
Mental Health First Aid
Train selected employees to become Mental Health First Aiders and provide essential support to employees developing a mental health issue or who are in a mental health crisis
Physical first aid is accepted and widespread in our community. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the mental health equivalent. It is not training in diagnosis or therapy but is an essential safety step in your workplace.
As an MHFA Instructor, Anne can train your team leaders to become Mental Health First Aiders.
They will learn about:
- Signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults
- How to provide initial help until professional support is received or the crisis resolves
- Where and how to get professional help
Are you ready?
Upskill your leaders and teams
Leaders are key influencers in the mental health and wellbeing of their employees. Yet leaders are often reticent to have mental health conversations in case they ‘get it wrong’, ‘make it worse’, or simply do not know what to do or say.
Anne’s presentations address these concerns and instill leaders with the confidence, skills and competence to protect, enhance and support employee mental health.
