Conversations
with leaders

Anne leads conversations with your key leaders and interactively engages the audience.

Mental health conversations should not be scary. They ought to be a part of everyday work and family life. So, what holds us back? Anne’s view is we worry about what to say and how to help. We want to be sure that what we say and do is based on the best research and delivers the right support.

In conversations, shares her own story of living with mental ill health while still forging a successful career. She engages your leaders in a discussion about how leaders can support people individually and develop best practice mental health strategies in the workplace.

Conversations with leaders about mental health in their workplace

Anne says:

‘Mental health challenges run in my family, but we never spoke about it. I know families that are still like that … and organisations.’

‘I wish someone had talked to me 30 years ago when I was struggling at work – but they didn’t know how.’

Service #3

Executive
Briefings

Executive Briefings

Highly customized, concise and focussed dialogue with key decision makers.

The Executive set the tone. Their tangible and visible support will make or break mental health and wellbeing initiatives. They play a key role in creating a psychologically safe workplace and culture where mental ill-health is seen as treatable and often preventable. Not doing this well is a major risk issue. Anne will spotlight the evidence, risk and protective factors and work with the Executive to identify key best practice interventions.

Service #4

workshops

Small group workshops

Whether your program is a short term intervention or part of a longer term mentally healthy workplace development strategy, (the more sustainable option), your program will be constructed on the basis of a thorough understanding of your goals and desired outcomes, what Anne know works based on her hundreds of proven programs, and tested business education principles.

Participants will be energised and equipped to lead and support mental health strategies for individuals, teams and whole systems. In short, they become champions and catalysts for change

Upskill your leaders and teams

Leaders are key influencers in the mental health and wellbeing of their employees. Yet leaders are often reticent to have mental health conversations in case they ‘get it wrong’, ‘make it worse’, or simply do not know what to do or say.

Anne’s presentations address these concerns and instill leaders with the confidence, skills and competence to protect, enhance and support employee mental health.

Anne brought such an incredible energy to the day. Instantly likeable, warm and engaging – Anne is a brilliant public speaker. Much more importantly, Anne brought so many practical tips and relatable anecdotes and the feedback from the team was overwhelmingly positive.

Matthew Parker - Connections Manager, Twinings

Wonderful session. I was one of those sitting around the corner at the back when you started but I moved to sit at a table and was totally engaged when you finished. The last session of a three day conference when everybody was taxed out, you were great. Loved it.

Graeme Fairclough - Training Advisor, NZ Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation

We are very grateful to Anne for her very candid and energising presentation to our Vision Australia team. Anne shared her experience of mental health and wellbeing and made it safe and possible for many others within our organisation to do the same. Thank you Anne, you have made a big impact on our team and on the normalising of mental health.

Ron Hooton - Chief Executive, Vision Australia

The outcome was everything I had hoped for … due in great measure to your skills and talents in managing a strong, highly intellectual group of non-shrinking violets.

Chief of Australian Defence Force

We have all been incredibly pleased with the program and your role. You are on my incredible person list!

Bill Whitacre - President & CEO, J.R. Simplot Company

Anne provides practical guidance and support for people and businesses managing change, looking to improve the way they look after their people, and finding new opportunities for excellence.

Leighton Williams, Black Dog Institute

We have had leaders consistently report gaining deep insights and leaving with tools that they are immediately able to apply in the workplace and in their personal life. Anne has helped establish a common language for these critical skills throughout our organization. Her work has helped us be more prepared for the coming changes in our Company that are critical for us to get to the next level.

Ryck Tanner - Director, Learning & Development, J.R. Simplot Company

In conversation with Chief People Officer, Anne shared her personal story with warmth and frankness, giving relatable insights into her own journey of mental wellness. Importantly, she also talked on a practical level about how to connect with someone who might be struggling in the workplace, how to ask ‘are you ok’ meaningfully, and then what to say if they are not ok and where to refer for help. Anne’s credibility, along with her great sense of grounded humour, ensured the discussion flowed smoothly and hit the mark.

Ken McNoe - Manager, Clinical Governance and Quality at Healthdirect Australia
